Our Story

A Village That Builds Drums. A Family That Ships Them.

Matun Village sits in Yanshi, Luoyang, Henan — the recognized home of Chinese drum making, where around 80% of the country’s large drums are produced. QiaTuo is our workshop family inside that tradition: one roof, eleven drum types, and a production line that runs from raw hide to export carton.

We build lion dance and dragon drums, tanggu, war and flat drums, waist and chest drums, kids’ early-learning sets, storytelling and flower pot drums, fan drums, sanjuban percussion and team-building drum kits. Heads are hand-cut and sun-seasoned — yellow cowhide on our war and flat drum lines, water buffalo hide on tanggu, waist, chest, huapen, sanjuban and team-building drums.

Our buyers are wholesale distributors, schools, performance troupes and event companies. Every drum ships with its full accessory kit and carries a one-year warranty covering shells, heads, hardware and stands.

The Craft

From Shell to Shipment, By Hand

Every QiaTuo drum passes the same four gates before it is packed for export.

Step 01 · One-Piece Bodies

Shell First

Cream one-piece pressed shells are seasoned in the storeroom, sorted by size and tone before anything is fitted.

Step 02 · Shell Fitting

Hardware On

Chrome rings and lugs go on the red shells — each shell checked for roundness before it meets its head.

Heads are tensioned rope by rope until the pitch sits right — no drum leaves the rack untuned.
